Man dreams of flying is a project that has as its fulcrum a stencil that the artist has reproduced starting from 2018 on various media, such as cards, posters, newspapers, doors and street furniture with a procedure that draws directly from the historical roots of Pop art.
The boy on the swing recurs in different places as in a game of mirrors, changing his colors and bringing with him fragments of lives, concerts, films and news taken directly from the street. In this way he constructs an unusual and current schedule, in which different temporal dimensions overlap and cancel each other out.
The title of the project is a tribute to the Negrita album of the same name (2005) and reveals the trait d’union between the different works on which The boy on the swing has found a place: the theme of the game, considered – in accordance with pedagogy Froebel’s – the basis on which, in childhood, relationships with things, with oneself and with others are structured. Through his rules, the child builds the inner and outer world of the adult who will be.
Antonio Conte and his boyfriend on the swing provocatively propose a reversal: they invite adults to recover the playful dimension of childhood, and with it a clean look at what surrounds them, the ability to share beauty and the freedom to be self. themselves.
